This is just great! I can't wait to try it. Now I just need to work out how to get my datacentre to export to a floppy disk

Re: Quest to become ELITE!

Arrgh! I thought I'd boot up TubeElite this morning for a quick blast but it seems like the disk file on my mmc with my Elite save has become corrupt somehow. When I try and cat the disc the machine seems to stop. All progress seemingly lost :( Is there a way to fix the ssd or salvage data from it? ...

Re: "Unfixable bug" in BBC B Elite

Hi Ian. Some of my very earliest computing memories are of watching my Dad and brother play Elite in our dining room in Sheffield, and then me having a go too and eventually getting the hang of it. My Dad absolutely loved your game and i recall him considering the scanner a work of genius. Thanks fo...

Re: BBC Elite Which is the best version? Or do they differ?

Neither the master nor tube versions offer any extra missions over the standard disk version. I would prefer the tube version over the master due to its extra speed and that it doesn't slow nearly as much when there's lots happening. A-Elite is the best of the lot and it too detects a tube and speed...

Re: WE 32K RAM Card Repair

That's similar to what I've done. I've insulated the topside of the WE card and it lays over the ram. This allows for a short cable run from the 6502 socket to the WE card.

Re: BeebSID

Hi guys, I finally tried setting up the beedsid that came with my Master. It needed a new 8580 and a 34 pin idc to daisychain the beebsid ahead of the datacentre. Lk2 is south for a 9v SID. IMG_6124.JPG I'm assuming the power lead goes the way I connected it as the connector wouldn't fit the other w...

Re: Pi-based Co-Pro on the cheap - 100MHz 6502 for £10? (now 274MHz)

Hi guys, I had some issues getting my Pi2 running alongside a WE Ram card. With an approx 15cm cable from Tube to gpio I found I had to halve the cable length from the 6502 socket to the socket on the WE card. Any longer cable length seemed to stop things working. With that cable length I also found...

Re: WE 32K RAM Card Repair

Col's right - the card is useless really. I disagree. As Trixter has already posted, Lancelot and a number of other Level 9 games relied on both shadow and sideways ram to get the full visual experience. I'm keen to try those out once I have fixed it. :D I bought a WE ram card just to play Lancelot...

Re: C64 jiffyDOS & SD2IEC

Sd2IEC and an Epyx cart here on a breadbin C64, both working well. The SD2IEC is pretty good so long as you're not trying lots of multi-disc games - multidisc does kind of work but it's a bit hit and miss. Some games require the 1541 (like Lancelot) so on those occasions I make do with the disk drive.

I have a bunch of those - the 2001fp. If I recall correctly you need one with a date of July 2007 and earlier. I have a 2001fp marked March 2006 but it doesn't seem to like my A3000's output unless I use the VGA modes :( Yeah, I got my dates wrong! It's July 2005 and earlier. I've just checked the ...
