Re: BeebMaster BBC B Econet Kit

I haven’t used econet since school but would be bery interested now I have 3 model Bs and a Master (along with various co-procs). What would I need to connect them up? A 4 computer starter kit? Ideally I would like to use the Master as the main computer and have a model B drive things (if that is po...

Re: Today I received.....

What is "too close'? We are about 100Metre from the exchange and have Infinity 2. Only 75Mbps (get about 50) although 17 Upload (get about 15). So Virgin seems to have slow upload for its download speed. I thought that when I did a few speed tests. My old Sky fibre was around 35 and 8 so a much bet...

Lardo Boffin: how noisy is your VM box? I have one of those in my bedroom and it's distractingly loud, even when I'm watching the TV (it's turned off the rest of the time). I can hear a constant droning noise from a fan or the hard drive. I will have a listen tomorrow but my hearing is somewhat com...

Nasty.. Take the disc out of the jacket as Mark says. You will probably find the inner sleeve is covered in mould. I've recently been swapping disks and jackets over to good effect - the secret with the sleeves is to try and cut where they are joined (by the fold opposite the head slot), then you c...

I just had my Master refurbed by Mark and got him to fit it while he had it (and a Pi co proc and switchable os etc.) and here is how mine looks underneath. Note it is still in the antistatic bag - it literally just arrived!

Disc rot on 5 1/2” disc

I received a disc today and unfortunately it looks like this:-

The rot (I assume it is rot) is not isolated. Anything I can do about it? I don’t want to chuck the discs.

It has been so long since I first set it up is it still jumpered correctly? It should be powered by the beeb. A50A2EA1-A6B7-...
