My very cheap soldering iron (which came as part of a kit and probably cost about £2) has finally decided to stay cold. To be fair it has had quite a lot of use over the last year or so! 10 caps into a 40 cap megadrive refurb and it is now pushing up the daisies. Anyone have any recommendations for ...

I see yet another copy of Arc Elite just sold for ~£150 on eBay. Legal copies of the game are free to download from various sources, so why do people keep paying so much, essentially for a manual (or two in the case of the Gold version)? I'd understand if it was a rare title, but Arc Elite sold mor...

It was in a sorry state when it arrived. The seller had described the condition as good but let’s not split hairs. [-X

I ordered some spectrum keyboard membranes last year - no problems. They also kindly threw in some screws for my spectrum that was missing some. Great service!

It does look impressive with a proper expansion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjyTaPXhhcc But even unexpanded, 1K Chess was also pretty impressive for it. Yep. Mine has the ZXpand with sound board and the ZXChroma for the SCART connector and colour. 1k chess was an impressive programming feat!

I have played for about 10 mins without issues. Or much progress... It’s a classic 80’s text adventure - difficult and obscure! At least for me anyway. :lol:

Welcome! At the risk of impinging on your repair thread try unplugging the keyboard and then switch it on. If you hear brrr beeeep and then just get a flashing Mode 0 cursor it could well be the keyboard.
