Re: PiTubeDirect signalconverter for BBC Micro

There are some problems with snow effects on some BBC Master's using the internal PiTubeDirect Signal Converter for the Master. The ones connected to the external tube works fine. It seem like are different version of chips in the Master causing the problem, but this need to be investigated. To see ...

Re: BBC Master screen interference PiTube direct

Hi Dave,

The resistors are 33 ohm and not 330 as I previously said.
I have tested my master and it does not have this problem.

Re: BBC Master screen interference PiTube direct

Hi, When designing the first version of the master card I had the same problem, but I thought it was noise on the datalines. Because when I added the inline 33ohm resistors on the data lines the noise was gone. I will change the design and make new cards. I will see what we can do with replacing the...

Re: Pi-based Co-Pro on the cheap - 100MHz 6502 for £10? (now 274MHz)

I have done some testing with it today.
It does not seem to load the kernel at all.
There are no out from the debug kernel.
I loaded the old release from October and that works fine.

So it just seem to be a problem recognizing the Pi Zero W at boot.

Re: PiTubeDirect signalconverter for BBC Micro

Got the serial terminal working. It didn't work properly initially, I was scratching my head wondering why and wondering why the serial buffer chip was getting warm. GND and RX are the wrong way around on the silkscreen print - master version! That would explain what killed my master! Hi, Sorry for...

Re: PiTubeDirect signalconverter for BBC Micro

I'm trying to book a Pi 3 with an SD card from sundby.com but I'm not sure it's working. When powering on using the sundby.com SD card the red LED on the Pi comes on, the green flashes once and then the red LED stays on. Is this expected? I have a different SD card that seems to Linux boot fine. So...

Re: PiTubeDirect signalconverter for BBC Micro

Make sure you connect it with the BBC powered off, do not do what I did :( It would be tricky to hook up to the BBC and as the BBC Cannot multi-task easily it would not be that useful either. Oh no what happened? :( I've found a tiny MAX3232 converter board that will fix onto the CoPro pcb. That ca...

I've got a Pi 1, I'm assuming I can desolder the composite video connector for it to fit. Any signal lines used on the extra pins?

Yes, that will work, but I would highly recommend buying a Pi Zero for £4. Much better solution.

Hi, The connector is a standard one. But it may be a bad production from the manufacturer or damages during transport. All cards are tested with the build in programs. If the problem is between the converter and the master there can be a look solder point on the master. I suggest you try to use a pe...
