Re: High Score Challenge S8 - R2 - Manic Miner

Starting to learn more about each level... makes it a bit frustrating redoing the earlier stages as everything has to go perfect to get a chance to practice the higher levels. Menagerie had me stumped there for a while as I kept dying while falling too far when jumping for the last key, started tryi...

Re: How do you save a screen

How did you do that airbrush with dithering that keeps its place with tessellated checkerboards of all sizes. Most clever indeed! I was trying to work out in my head how you would do it. The 2x mode is really great. Another very useful addition for tons more shades. That will open out the look much...

Re: How do you save a screen

Thought it was time I should post an update, been having a little clean up and feature tuning session and wanted to share the current state. Couple of things to note: * The gradient box tool now is direction aware, e.g. for the horizontal gradient if you drag the box from left to right or right to l...

Re: How do you save a screen

Been having a play around with converting ART to SDL. I have the bulk of the program 'functioning' but there are a few issues for which I am struggling to overcome due to differences in the graphics subsystem mainly around graphics performance being a lot slower. One issue is that drawing is slower ...

Re: High Score Challenge S8 - R1 - A Maze In Space

Never played this BITD, had a few runs and starting to get used to the play style, made it once through to the alien ship although I missed killing it first pass. Don't forget to look out for the connector rooms that can be used to change levels at the top and bottom of some rooms. Score: 95250 A_Ma...

Re: Can we have useful BASIC with no IF statements?

Here's a little (very crude and hard to debug) attempt, IF's are gone but the INKEY is still there... this could probably be replaced with a call to OSBYTE... Let me know if it still works as the screen grab is a bit hazy and hard to read B's 8's A's and 0's EDIT: Updated the code a bit as I left so...

Re: How do you save a screen

Layers would be possible with more memory ala BB4W SDL or something else entirely like visual studio. I need to speed some time writing a conversion for SDL and try it out, if we can get that working that will free up the current issue of constant ram availability pressure and let us work on more ad...

I suspect you've been pretty busy with work so this can go on a back burner ....just some small additions which I think could make life easier using ART 2......I hope you don't mind me mentioning this! Ah brings back memories of some of the first pictures you created, I think some of the original dither patterns work well in mode 2.

Do you think it's worth adding some of those patterns ART for windows?
