Re: 6502 Stack

Thanks all for the responses, I think I'm getting a clearer idea for my use. As BigEd said. If you PLA stuff off the stack then you are at the mercy of interupts before the data is corrupted. You can, however, use the data freely & directly within the stack after it has been PHA'd before you PLA...

Re: High Score Challenge S8 - R6 - Felix Meets the Evil Weevils

Tricky little game with nice platform action, smooth controls (except getting stuck going up or down between two tunnels), good game play once I worked out which items to go for and what to kill. I kept trying to kill the ball bearings and getting squished until I re-read the instructions [-X Not su...

6502 Stack

I have a question regarding the 6502 stack, I'm wondering if executing a PLA is destructive or if the data remains on the stack? For instance, say push a series of data to the stack (PHA) then I store the stack pointer (TSX) then pull the data from the stack and use it for something (PLA) then updat...

Loving these, when I see the chunky pixels and bold colours I can also hear in my head the disk drive chugging away to load a typical mode 2 screen.

Re: High Score Challenge S8 - R5 - Cosmic Camouflage

Had quite a few attempts at this, tried various key re-mappings with BeebEm but just can't get a good setup with keyboard layout without the shift key going berserk. Nice looking game with good animation and sound. Probably my only submission for this one unless I can get a real beeb out of storage ...

ART 4 Windows

ART 4 Windows has been in on and off development over the past year or so and now has a home on Github. It is being developed in BBC Basic 4 Windows and is compiled into a Windows exe. BBC Basic was chosen as it is easy to understand how everything is programmed, plus I really love BBC basic! The or...

Re: High Score Challenge S8 - R4 - Caveman Capers

Killing it Ed :D I think this game is going to lose it's appeal once you have completed it the first time. After the first round it goes into turbo fast mode which to me, even with full lives seemed impossible to maneuver. However having said that, I'll post this and probably leave it for a while. ....

Re: BBC Micro Image Converter 0.20 released!

When I was doing this for BeebJack, I just modified the source images in Paint so that they had a black border to bring them up to the appropriate Beeb size. Then I converted them in Image2BBC and wrote some BASIC code to scrunch out the border and save the screen. If you want to send me an example...

Re: BBC Micro Image Converter 0.20 released!

....10 years later... are you still actively developing this program?

If so I'd love to be able to export to beeb at a specific resolution, I'm trying to convert some Apple II screens that are 280x192, any chance you're still in development and might take a look?

Struggling to get a higher score, does anyone know, is there some trick with hitting the exhaust port to receive the 25k bonus? I've tried shooting nothing but it doesn't ever give the bonus.

Re: Which games from other platforms did you wish was on the BBC?

However, there was one game on the C64s that I particulary noticed, and ever since have tried and failed to remember or find out what it was called. It was a multi-screen plan-view moving character thing (think Atic Atac) where you were some sort of tortoise-like reptile searching through caves for...

Re: Which games from other platforms did you wish was on the BBC?

I spent school holidays at an Aunts house, they had an Apple II clone (which I now own), there were many apple games I would dream about playing on the beeb and for which are part of a list that I would like to convert / clone / port one of these days. Includes: Conan Halls of Volta Sammy Lightfoot ...
