Re: How to convert tape to UEF

Okay I have never tried to convert electron tapes to UEF are they different to BBC (I did not think so) As when I run makeuef I just get 100's of errors does not matter if I use -w 0 180 or not i.e. MakeUEF V2.3. Command line: -i Camelot(SuperiorSoftware)(E)[Side1].csw Date (D/M/Y) and time: 16/01/2...

Re: Beebem on Github

Another BeebEm problem if you create a uef file with makeuef and it had a dummy byte in the leadin tone BeemEm sees the 1st block as "Non-standard" BeebEm.png So does not load the 1st program. BeebEmLoad.png On B-Em it works fine. B-Em.png Here is the log from makeuef for the 1st file and ...

Re: MAME: Emulating FDC Boards

You mean its an issue with mame itself and not with the BBC model B emulation under mame ? In any event it is creating non standard format .SSD's addition:- Did some more testing..... the BBC Master 128 works fine does not screw up the disk image and the BBC Micro Model B+ 64k also work fine so it s...

Re: MAME: Emulating FDC Boards

I am using the BBC Model B in mame, with the standard Acorn DFS 1.20, I created a blank SSD in BeebEm opened the image in Mame and wrote a file to it. If I then try to open the image in BeebEm I cant and when comparing it with a image created in BeebEm (see hex dumps) block 2 of the disk bytes are o...

Re: MAME: Emulating FDC Boards

MAME .SSD disc's don't work properly, below is the same file saved on a BeeBEm (Below) and on Mame (Above) BBCMame.png in the hex dump you can see MAME offsets the data at &100 by 1 and if you write to a existing disc image you end up destroying it. Hope this problem will be addressed and fixed ...

it checks the lead-in switching tones of ABBEY3 and somehow generated a check at the address &76 which is the copy protection of the software, if its not correct it then resets the bbc. These are the leadin tones that are checked before loading ABBEY3 HauntedAbbeyLeadin.png I think it's used to ...

Re: Haunted Abbey protection

yes gathered that only the worldofspectrum.org site has changed due to abuse and you cant access them anymore off those link's and cant find them on the site itself anymore.
Was interested to read the article about the copy protection.

Re: New look Repton Resource Page

all very well but how do I get the basic program file onto a disc image as the Arc ADFS is different to BBC ADFS? ahhh worked it out if you put the file in the FS DIR you can the run it from there "This is the ArculFS directory. Place files here for them to appear in the ArculFS filesystem"...

Re: Turbo MMC - File commands

the copy syntax is *COPY 0 1 <file> as per the normal DFS filing system.
though you do need to make sure the destination is write enabled with DUNLOCK and the din number.

you can mount more than one image on to drives 0 to 3 use the DIN command *DIN (<DRV>) <dno> I.E. *DIN 44 0 --> this will mount din disk image 44 in drive 0 *DIN 45 1 You can then copy from drive 0 to drive 1 but if you want to copy to the same drive then you will have to load and save it or *load a...

Re: How to convert tape to UEF

Lol yes they are in hex its the 4th last block in the file (counting in decimal  ) you can see/hear its shorter than the other blocks. I Used *OPT2,0 to ignore errors and loaded it in on my BBC can do the same with the uef or csw file on BeebEm. It them left the missing data at 0's and i then ...
