Builderbob

I seem to remember a game on the electron called Builder Bob. This is where a little man had to get from the bottom of the screen to the top by building staircases using bricks. He had to avoid being squashed by cranes which tried to drop bricks on him.

Haven't seen it anywhere on this site...

IE6

I agree with melchett. My machine is upto date as it is my work laptop running IE6 with SP1 installed on top. Again, the rendering problem does seem intermittent, I am fine at the moment having made no changes to my machine settings or software. Weird, must be some random coding that says if the day...

Tiny fonts

Yep, happening to me too as we speak. Need to get the magnifying glass out to read any text. Something must have changed as I haven't done anything at my end to upset things.
Keyboard mapping.

Hi,

Got a problem using ElectrEm v0.9b on my laptop. I do not seem to be able to have all the keys mapped properly. I have tried using the Logical.kyb and Physical.kyb keyboard maps but neither seems to work for my HP omnibook 6000 laptop. It concerns the '/' key which doesn't seem to work ...

BASIC ROMs

To get back to the main screen, pressing F12 or 'CTRL+F12' will get you back to the Acorn Electron with nothing loaded state.

If you want to get at the Emulator itself, then at any point pressing F11 will take you into the Emulator (even when items are loaded).

Both keyboard instru...

Acorn Electron emulator

I assume we're talking about the ElectrEm v0.9b emulator here?

A quick guess would be that the BASIC.ROM has not been placed in the correct slot. Without this, the emulator won't recognise any commands and so will give errors.
The ROMS menu (get at emulator menus using F11) should have ...

Repton 1

Plays as well as the original ever did and the new levels are already proving to be a great challenge.
Have yet to look at the level editor but this should also be an excellent bonus that the original missed out on.

Certainly not disappointed by what I see and looking forward to other r...

Sound distortion problems.

Hi,
I'm currently using Thomas Harte's acorn electron Emulator (ElectrEm v0.9b).

I have experienced problems with the sound in that for a period of time it seems fine and all sounds are crisp and clear and then for a few seconds say once a minute the sound gets very distorted before rec...

Repton 2 Save States

I used the ElectrEm emulator (v0.9b) to save states. This basically freezes the exact state of the machine into a .uef file and allows you to restore the machine to that exact state . This is particularly handy to use just before sections of the game where there is a high chance of getting it wrong....

Tape Leads.

Hi,
As I recall it is the Mic lead that is the most important to get right. If your cassette recorder has an earphones socket (EAR) then this needs to go into there.
I don't remember what the Aux cable was used for, but the REM cable if I recall correctly was simply used to stop the tape aut...

Elite

I get the same problem when running Elite.ssd on the BeebEm emulator (any version). It seems to crash the moment the countdown completes on hyperspace and you just see the hyperspace effect before it crashes.
Thanks

I've found the file blockblitz on the BBC lives site but have yet to work out how to convert it into an .SSD file for BeebEm (despite having a Word document which seems to mention how to do it). Will keep trying to get it converted to see if it is one and the same as Builderbob.

You are pro...

Imogen - Unique, never completed it as I always made at least one mistake through the various levels, but thoroughly enjoyable never the less.
