8271FDC & 3.5" drives, DFS1.20+hacks

Re: Dragonsoft Explorer

the write protection off on save disc will allow high score saving, if beeb turned off at wrong time save gets corrupt, hence the reset is needed to get game working again, prob why MIA as folk thought discs are popped, like I thought before finding the reset file :D

Re: ANF03 and motor control DIN cable

Most have a auto level control, hence my elk tape recorder has no controls but works, so must have a small pre amp in the player.

old hi-fi 5 pin dins are pre amp like expensive vinyl decks , that then go into a expensive amp or mixer :D

Re: Round the Back of my master Compact

best thing to do is get rid of the 'disc drive /PSU' box & use any 5v USB adaptor >1amp then, get yourself a 33p china MMC interface, and put it to the joystick port, sorted also, burn DFS 2.45 (from one of the welcome discs or emulator image) and put that in too (& *unplug ADFS  ) link...

You must be lucky with a quality Issue2 ! (No unsoldering like those inferior issue4/6  )

done the very same 20+ yrs ago, just use a 256 , put Basic2 in first &4000 then OS1 in the second (4000 -7FFF)

done 8)

PS just use image from working rom
