Re: Games that were better on the Electron than on the Beeb?

Good point about the FOV on Electron Repton, but I don't think that's enough to save it :) I think the most important difference in Electron Repton is the map character, which allows you to see the map only after it has been collected. I like this feature (XOR certainly built on it in an interestin...

I'd definitely be interested as well - I'm interested in everything you do but I didn't want to say yes as I still haven't produced the set of Repton Overture screens I promised! An interesting project to look at is Claptraps by TestPilotMonkey. Richard used Python as Reptol and it is possible to cr...

Re: Games that were better on the Electron than on the Beeb?

Definitely Frak! Better collision detection, more levels, a screen designer, customisable start level and colourschemes. It may only be monochrome (and monophonic) but it is a far, far better game than the BBC Micro version. I'd love a BBC Master version of Frak! that's the Electron version with BBC...

Re: High Score Challenge S7- R10 - Galaforce 2:Alien's Revenge

New high score. I asked Richard Hanson about the game being on PIAS 6 and it was largely due to the BBC/Electron games market slowing down and therefore less new titles being released so it was decided that this one would go on a compilation instead. I'd love for there to be the full set of Impact ...

Re: High Score Challenge S7- R10 - Galaforce 2:Alien's Revenge

still don't get why it was hidden away on Play It Again Sam 6 IIRC, originally the game was going to be released stand-alone by Impact (who released Clogger and Zenon), but it contained a lot of IP from Superior (many of the Galaforce 1 Electron graphics) so it ended up being released by Superior i...

Re: High Score Challenge S7- R8 - Repton

This is an awful level, I have always hated it, and still do I always absolutely hated the level until Michael S. Repton explained to me how to approach it, and convinced me it is a puzzle, of sorts, after all. https://youtu.be/t7yIJcdRsfQ?t=3m3s What you have to realise to do this is that monsters...

Re: Anyone developing Tube enhanced software?

You can redraw 16 8x8 mode 1 pixel sprites in a frame, or many more if groups are the same and character aligned. I'm just idly wondering whether Repton Infinity would have been a candidate for a Co-Pro version. It updates the entire screen with character aligned tiles each frame, but has to do a l...

Re: Syncron

All Syncron really needed to make a better game out of it was waves of ships to move in formation over the maps. It also has a nasty bug - if you approach runways from the same direction repeatedly the ship moves further and further up or down the screen until the game becomes unplayable. You had to...

The amount going on, the speed and the size of the sprites together make this another remarkable game. I'm utterly useless at it but it's very, very impressive to play. I love the feeling of flight you get from the small birds, and how much gameplay there is to this game. I'm more of a puzzle game t...

I'm attaching an SVG file and a PNG of the Stardot logo - the PNG has a transparent background and is 600 dpi which should be OK for T-shirt use, but if you download Inkscape you can play with the SVG to your heart's content.

Wonderful stuff. I had a play with this yesterday and I'm really impressed. The thing that always interests me about tricky's games is they never look like they are running on a BBC, which is something almost unique as usually you can tell straight away if a game is running on a Beeb.

I should have added, the assembly is commented so thoroughly you can get the logic of the game (map scanning direction, order things move etc.) just by reading the comments.
