Re: what should i write next?

For no particular reason I have made a list of my top 5 arcade games I'd like to see on the BBC Micro. AFAIK they all made it to at least one 8 bit machine in some form or another. Food for thought :D

Yes had a great time, lots of new faces I didn't recognise, and some veterans I've not met before too!

Many thanks to Jason for the organisation, and also to the centre itself which I think was a pretty good venue, the fella running it there I found knowledgeable and friendly.

Cheers

Just got round to giving this a go, very nice! If I had one criticism, I couldn't always figure out what direction my keypress would take the cursor, and became confused often! That said however I only had 2 goes so that may become obvious after another few turns. Otherwise lovely job both of you =D>

Re: Xanadu Adventure (1982), Hopesoft

what ever happened to that Beeb adventure creation tool you were developing..? I had a particular idea in mind and wanted a (modern) tool to enable me to write it for the BBC. Unfortunately it never got much past printing out the locations, which is a shame but I don't have the time or energy these...

What happened to curry at 9pm?

I only just got here :(

Edit:

Right I've waited 1.5 hours in the bar so I'm off. Pretty annoyed nobody could be bothered to wait for me. I won't bother next time

Re: Acorn & BBC User Group (ABug) NORTH 31 JAN HALIFAX

I though Ziggy's did a good tandoori when I went to meet up in August. It also had the advantage of catering for some of the guys that didn't like spicy food. Perhaps it was a bit busier on the Friday night and they didn't do so well? The food wasn't actually bad, and for £11 including a couple of ...

Getting files off an old A410

A friend of mine has got an old A440 (running Risc OS 3.11) and would like to get the files off it before the HD packs up.

What's the best way? He's tried XModem (via ArcTerm7, ZAnsi and Connector) but they all seem to cancel the transfer :?:

Is there some nice simple software he can use?

Cheers

I've been after this for a while, managed to find a copy online which I've attached here.

I've also recently got hold of the original tape which I can bring along to Halifax if anyone wants to image it, in case there's any difference...
