Replacement battery:

One of those (either version) and you'll be fine.

Re: Master fault finding

Yup. They do have a tendency to pop here and there - reading the manual it seems it can be hard to tell whether it's the system or user one that's gone, so it'd seem wise to just replace both. The main reason is they're easier to deal with than the PBC (IC21) - The other thing you could do is, if yo...

Re: Master fault finding

Can you see if it's actually running code from the ROM? The long beep will occur if the OS doesn't get as far as initialising the sound hardware.

A known-working OS ROM would be useful.

It has been done, it does require-slow-o-net speeds though IIRC:

Re: Wanted - A3000 IDE podule

I can confirm that the castle podule doesn't work with a CF-SD converter or recent SD card reader. I'll be trying it with a two-chip SD card reader as soon as I get a 40-44pin adaptor for mine :(

Re: A Master List for New Retro Kit?

Retroclinic's rom switcher's called the "MultiOS" - there was a previous version called the DualOS that swapped between two OS images.

Re: PS/2 keyboard & mouse to Archimedes adapter MK II

This isn't for the A3000/A30x0 machines, it's for the archimedes/A5000 :( There are a few options for the A3000/A30x0/A4000/RiscPC for mice? Many PS/2 mice can be fitted to an archimedes... This one, for example: https://www.ballicom.co.uk/-ms-04-ps2-.p886897.html It does need some surgery though: h...

What sort of battery are you currently using?

If it's an AA, I'd suggest something like an eneloop. The other thing is to make sure it's fully charged!

Indeed, they are becoming uncommon and it's good to see an addition to the options available. I should say though that this part of the forum is really a community for-sale noticeboard, so ideally you need to be offering items for sale direct through here if that's what you want to do. In the past w...

Hello - you're a new user with no reputation here, so before you offer items for sale it may be an idea to post an introduction thread to say who you are and what your interest in the scene is! Additionally, I point to the above forum rules: "This forum is not for advertising items you have for...

Re: MEGA NEWS ! QDBUG DOC AVAILABLE !

Can you explain what this is? If it's archimedes related, I'd suggest talking to flibble? Stardot's a good place for popping things transiently, but it's not good as an archive site as it's just a forum.

Re: Electron Plus 3 RAM/ROM board problem

Fear not! You don't need a track continuity mode, you just need to turn your multimeter to the lowest resistance range (usually 200ohm?) - if the tracks are broken you'll get a maxed out reading (i.e. near infinite resistance).
