Re: Bug Eyes not working?

OK So that first 5 didn't work.

Let's try this one.
Its the STH version again, but without the Datacentre fix.
Also posted in the High Score section.

Re: High Score Challenge S8 - R9 - Bug Eyes

Hi Jools I have removed the Datacentre fix from the above version. Could you try this one and let me know the outcome. Mick. bugeyesfix6.zip If this isn't the fault, then maybe I'm using the wrong copy. If so, do you have the right copy as the link earlier to the ssd used in the tournament just make...

Re: Bug Eyes not working?

So Fix4 still crashes. Here's what I hope is the final fixed version of Bug Eyes. It is the same version taken from the STH data that stops the stars scrolling before loading the main game except I have added Bill C's Datacentre fix to it. Could someone please try this version and let me know the ou...

Kong from Beebugsoft

Hi All,
Does anyone have a copy of a game called Kong by Beebugsoft?
A picture of the highscore for this game is featured in the September 1984 issue of Acorn User.

regards,
Mick.

PS In the same mag is a advert for Og the Caveman for the BBC B by Simonsoft. Anyone got that too?

Did anyone manage to complete any of the 3 hacks I posted in the Issues section.
I am hoping that the 2nd one I posted works.

thanks for that Bill! However, I still can't manage to get past level 4 as I am no good at it. Until I do, I can't find out if any of my hacks work properly, so may take some time to solve this one. Unless anyone else can play the 3 posted hacks through to completion and let me know. Would really li...

Disc 022 re-posted due to including instructions for Run Silent, Run Deep taken from scans of the Acorn User.
I believe this is the last Acorn User game that needed some info adding.

Re: Bug Eyes not working?

I was just wondering if anyone had a poke that could be used to cheat so I could play through the various versions to see if there are any problems as I am useless as playing the game properly myself.

Re: 30th Anniversary BBC and Electron Collection

Hi Bill,

The version of Apocalypse I have included is the Red Shift tape copy, but I have borrowed the disc fix from the larger Command Software version and added that to it.
I have tried to create a version that is as close to the tape version as possible.

Mick.

Re: Bug Eyes not working?

Here's my next attempt. This is a version that keeps the original F8 and F9 as per STH version. It also switches off the stars before loading the main game as per STH version. It has no *TAPE or ?&3CA tape stuff as per STH version. PS although my version has the files arranged as per tape versio...

Re: Bug Eyes not working?

Next, I have noticed that the STH version does not include the *FX14,3 routine in the loader or the *FX13,3 routine in the main game that my version did, so I have now done several things to this version. 1. removed the *FX14,3 in the BUG1 file. 2. removed the *FX13,3 routine from my hack as the STH...

Bug Eyes not working?

Hi all, I thought I'd start a new thread here, rather than clog up the high score challenge pages. Firstly, It looks like the hack I did some time back of Bug Eyes does not work properly on a BBC. JoolsH says you can't complete it without it crashing. He says the STH version works fine. We are not s...

Re: High Score Challenge S8 - R9 - Bug Eyes

That's Odd! OK the only other thing it could be is that there is a ?&3C7=&00 in the loader of the STH version. I have added it to my version. Hopefully this sorts it. If so then it was a tape protection thing after all! If not, then I may have to wait for Bill C to investigate. Mick. bugeyes...

Re: High Score Challenge S8 - R9 - Bug Eyes

OK!
Just to see if it is the Datacentre fix that causes the problem.
Here is the same copy of Bug Eyes with the original code for the keys.

If someone could please check this copy and let me know the outcome.

Mick.

Re: Chrysalis - Icon not working on BeebEm414 or MMC

It was some time back when I too noticed that the game did not work under BeebEm, but did work on B em. Even the uef image did not work under BeebEm. I found that changing the contents of &1C3F from &40 to &0E got around this problem, but I don't know why, it just did! Maybe someone can ...

Re: High Score Challenge S8 - R9 - Bug Eyes

Just taken a look at my copy of Bug Eyes. I take full blame for this. In BUG5 Bill had changed the value of &1F14 from &F8 to &A8 and &1F35 from &F9 to &A9 to avoid a clash with the Datacentre. However, because I wanted to keep the stars in the loader moving the same as the t...
