Re: New game - tube type thingy

Wow! This is looking amazing. I'm starting to regret getting rid of my Master :(

Re: ABug NORTH User Group meeting | 19-21 JAN 2018 | MANCHESTER *BOOKING INFO*

I've been wondering what to bring with me to the event. I'll certainly bring a beeb to play with. I've also been experimenting on-and-off with an ESP8266 wi-fi modem, so I'll bring that too. Recently, I've had access to an EMR midi adaptor. I've tried to get that working along with a midi keyboard a...

Re: EEPROM - the Holy Grail of Sideways Rom?

Hi - just letting people know I've figured out the problem with my set-up. It was, as Hoglet suggested, simply a matter of dodgy chips. When I tried one from a batch I'd got from Dave Hitchins, it worked perfectly - unlike the suspiciously cheap ones I'd ordered from China. I also did a little exper...

I'm definitely interested. Manchester's only a short(ish) train ride from mine, so I don't want to miss out on this one :)

Re: EEPROM - the Holy Grail of Sideways Rom?

I seem to be having some trouble unlocking my EEPROMS too. I'm using a master and I've added a write-protect switch to a care electronics cartridge as detailed somewhere further back in this thread. This being the simplest possible mod, it seemed like a good place to start. Using version 4.1A of the...

Re: Correctly output to a printer

Well, this is a timely post. I was wondering why I was losing the linefeed character whilst sending data out through the serial port. My workaround was to use VDU1,10 rather than VDU 10. I hadn't been aware of the *FX6 setting, but it all makes sense now!

Re: My 'new' pride and joy

Those .mp3 files were just what I needed - that saved me an awful lot of faffing around, and worked first time. Thanks!

Re: EEPROM - the Holy Grail of Sideways Rom?

Hurrah - I'm up and running now! Thanks to Dave H for supplying the EEPROMs, and to Martin B for achieving the Holy Grail and getting the whole thing working.

Re: EEPROM - the Holy Grail of Sideways Rom?

Well that looks very promising. I'm planning on using the EEPROM for the same purpose as skinnymathew, so his MP3 files should come in very handy. :)

Re: EEPROM - the Holy Grail of Sideways Rom?

Hi guys, I'm a long-time lurker and occasional poster - here's one of my occasional posts :) This looks like it could be a rather useful addition to my machines. I've read through the thread a couple of times, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I've got a cassette based Electron with a Plus 1 and ...

Re: MMC card interface

Hi - I've not been to this forum for a while, and I don't know whether this question has been asked before, but here goes - I'm thinking of building myself an MMBeeb over the Chiristmas holidays, but I'd like to keep the user port available for my mouse. Are there enough lines available for both to ...

Re: I'd just like to say...

I once adapted a BBC keyboard to use as part of a docking station for a GP2X. I broke all the links on the back of the PCB and re-wired to match the matrix of a donor USB keyboard from which I'd taken the controllor hardware. I also re-located the cursor keys in a more PC friendly layout. The thing ...

Re: Vsync & interlace trick double colours?

Would it be possible to reduce the height of the display and therefore cut the video RAM requirements to operate just on main memory and avoid having to switch back and forth?
