Re: NuLA demos

You don't actually need to change any code in a game to get it to work. All you do is program the palette before loading the game and the colours will be changed. I was thinking more of modifying an existing game to make use of NuLA as it transitions levels, or making use of the extra palette entri...

Re: My First BBC

Anyway, I have told my poor wife that the collection is now complete! Ahh .. that old chestnut  Most of all, I like that I am preserving a piece of history. Commendable, I have a similar feeling with my stuff, it'll probably end up in the skip when I pop my clogs though  If you're intere...

Re: Post pictures of your beeb setup

Apologies for the poor picture quality and mess of wires which I'll have to do something about. beebsetup.jpg On the right we have a magnificient BBC master with an internal datacentre and external PI zero co-processor. On the left, and connected to the monitor, is an A3000 with RO 3.11 and 2MB (ho...

Re: Computer Shops From Back In The Day

I was just doing a bit of reminiscing with Rich. at Classic Acorn via e-mail and it occured to me there must be quite a few of us that crossed paths but never met each other in the old computer shops where we got our weekly 8 bit "fix". My 8 bit journey started off in Leeds where my fathe...

Re: SDK 85

Nice, any chance of ROM dumps? We have this emulated in MAME but the usual system monitor is only one ROM, whereas you have two. There's also a Mastermind ROM in MAME for this board which may be of interest to you. Certainly Nigel, I'll have a look at the ROMs, especially the extra one. Mastermind ...

Thank you, yes, working so far, I looked at a memory location and it seems to be holding the right value (according to a book I have) =D> It didn't work initially but I worked out the "b" key was stuck on. Took it apart (easily done, key cap just pops off revealing the contacts), gave it a...

Re: Retro gaming heaven!

I've been at it 7 years though (since I've been a member here actually)! and probably spent a small fortune, but I have no kids so I'm not spending anyone's inheritance  Pity that's not 17 years. People couldn't even give it away then. I dread to remember the full skips of yore. Still, those ...

Yes, thank you @bonejour90, that's the reason I have them now, the Atom was a bit before my time, but I have this thing (there's probably a medical term for it ) where I like to go further and further back in time with something (when it interests me).
