Re: Commando -Elite Systems1985- Space Invasion??

Capcom released Commando as Space Invasion for the West German market. Same game but different sprites changing the enemies to alien robots to make it less violent to humans.
For the home versions Elite made C64 and Amstrad (maybe others?) versions of Space Invasion for the West German market.

Re: MAME: Video handling

Sorry to pernod for diverting your thread with this discussion. I hope you find it useful! We can take it elsewhere if you like. No problem, it's all relevant for testing. I tried your ROMFS version of Southern Belle and again just a blank screen, so very likely need to overhaul the tape interface....

Re: New Disk Image Editor

I just loaded up a SSD containing four files with the purpose of simply changing the Boot Option from 0 to 3. When I saved this I expected only a single byte to be changed in the image, but no. It had re-ordered all the files in the image. If no files are being added or removed from the image then I...

Thanks, but worse then Elkulator, I get nothing but a blank screen. I'll re-visit it when I can load it from UEF.

Re: MAME: Video handling

Don't let those test cases discourage you. They're quite challenging and Elkulator doesn't get them quite right, either. :) Not at all, though I've achieved what I wanted for this release. I'll be moving back to BBC video next as split modes haven't worked for maybe 10 years! Southern Belle is on t...

Re: MAME: Video handling

Have you tried Southern Belle? I previously thought it didn't work in Elkulator until I just tried it to check. It's possibly not quite right, as the attached screenshot shows. Not yet, UEF is still not great and unable to load Southern Belle, no disc image of it either. I can also provide you with...

Found the bad palette write and everything looks good: 0141.png 0142.png I believe the Electron in MAME is now about on par with Elkulator and certainly exceeds in configurability and supported peripherals. Timing is not 100% but is closer to the real thing than Elkulator. The only game that I'm awa...

Re: MAME: Video handling

I can't say I'm sure what's going on with your 3d Pool — that's where the graphics are supposed to be, but there should be a black background behind the text, inside a green border. The colour fringing on the text is correct. Has a palette write gone missing somehow? It could well be a palette issu...

Improved the timing and Flight Path 737 looks good.
This menu is a great test for timing to ensure each colour band lines up with each option correctly.

Re: MAME: Video handling

I'm taking a look at improving the Electron video handling, and I think it's not actually that bad at the moment. Re: palettes and modes, switching palettes on the 100Hz interrupt is the most common way to hide program data within the display, given that there's no CRTC so you can't just redefine th...

Re: AMX 3d Zicon

I presume you're using the image I posted? What error are you getting?

Edit: I'm using AMX Mouse Support V3.31 and I had a Catalogue Full error at line 680, which reads:
680 *BU.0
change this to:
680 *BUTTONS 0

If this is the error you're seeing then it's conflicting with *BUILD in your DFS.

Re: MAME: Atom

I don't think Nathan has contributed for quite a few years now.

Anyway it sounds like we have a plan of action to implement the "new" schakelkaart as a slot device. I'll leave the 'Atom with Eprom Box' for now, but intend to convert that to 'Atom with RAMROM' at some point.

I would say implement the "new" schakelkaart: http://members.casema.nl/hhaydn/s-krt-nw-e.html ("new" being 1984) Yeah, I'm happy to do that, basically move existing Eprom Box to a slot device and reduce ROM slots from 16 to 8. Two 4K sockets in memory-space #E000 - #EFFF (FDC us...

I've now moved the Atom Disc Pack to a separate device on the Acorn Bus, and added AtomSID. So why do other emulators have a black background, are they wrong? Even real hardware seems to have black background, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITIWwxPCXAk

Are there any improvements you'd like to see to the emulation, maybe AtomSID?
