the person who sent it to me did mention that it made him "clinically insane". Well, I very much hope that the author recovers his sanity after a suitable period of rest! What else might this mind be capable of producing? We need to know. I'll ask him -- but I'll have to wait till...

Re: Maze of Madness

Thank you to Diminished, who PM'd me and confirmed that there was indeed a bug or loophole in the game.

I've now fixed the bug and attached the updated version of the game to the first post in this thread.

I've uploaded the fix to bbcmicro.co.uk too.

Good grief! I might have known that this game wouldn't be half as devious as the Stardotters hell-bent on finding loopholes in it!

Can u PM me and tell me what the bug/loophole is, please?

Re: How t pass arrays into procedures?

I think the problem was an ovelap between variable names (e.g. I% in FOR ..NEXT loops) inside the procedure and global variables. I have decided to use capitals for global variables and small letters for those inside procedures , that way there is no overlap Or use LOCAL variables inside procedures...

Re: How t pass arrays into procedures?

I have noticed while programming on the BBC Micro that Acorn BASIC will recognize globally declared array variables (e.g. scores%(10)) inside a "first level" PROC. However if I call another PROC from within the first one and try to use that same array variable, it it no longer recognized ...

Re: Minor inconsistency in displaying publishers

Should I do the same with publishers as I did with games - have a separate field for article, and not display it on the index page, just on the details page (For the game, we don't have pages for publishers)? Or something else, I suppose it is easiest just to chop off the ',' as we do for the '('. ...

Hello, just stumbled upon this randomiser version. Is there a version with infinite lives? Completed this as a boy some 30 years or so ago and want my 8-year-old to have a go. The game is so damn hard to complete in one sitting when you're not used to keys. Try one of these: http://www.stairwaytohe...

Re: Cleaning up game titles on Details pages

I would strongly consider splitting the article into a separate field, and the other metadata as well, then considering how you want it to be displayed Yes, that would be the better solution. The reason I didn't suggest it is that I didn't want to make (too much) more work for anyone! But yes, that...

Cleaning up game titles on Details pages

Paul, this is extremely non-urgent, so feel free to ignore it, but it occurred to me that the way that definite and indefinite articles ("The", "An", "A") are tagged onto the end of the game-name is fine in the backend database and in search results, but it looks a bit ...
