Presumably you only want testers with real hardware? I can only test in an emulator (Arculator under WINE on a Mac) at the moment.

Dozens of PDFs have been uploaded to the Stardot forums. But perhaps you exceeded the filesize limit. (I'm not sure exactly what that limit is though!)

Nice idea for the mag, btw.

Re: Best 16K commercial games ?

Having trawled some old magazines (mainly from 1982 and early 1983, as Model A games tend to fade away after this point), and checking the STH Cover scan archive, I have come up with this list... Wow, that's quite a list! Let's hope some of those rare Model A games turn up somewhere. Level 9: Model...

In the case of the ALPS support disc however, it can be bundled along with ALPS and released as a complete download at a later date when it's fully archived. Please feel free to ignore my questions if you find them irritating, but do you have a rough idea when that might be? Or, if the ALPS Support...

Re: Beebug Pyramid Patience faulty

It'll run on a Model B at &A00 though! See attached prototype. I used the compressed version of $.PYR. I also loaded the relevant char definitions at &900, and redirected the OS lookups for chars 128-159 and 224-255 to &900 by storing the integer value 9 in memory locations &36B and ...

Re: Beebug Pyramid Patience faulty

The game doesn't work on a Model B even if you compress $.PYR with PRES ABE's Pack routine and download it to &E00.

I think the main prog needs more RAM than a Model B has available for BASIC programs. See line 120 of $.PYR, which switches to MODE 129.

The Acornsoft loading screen data is stored in memory starting at TOP, which is the memory location that immediately follows the last byte of the BASIC loader program. Because you increased the size of the BASIC program (albeit only by one byte), by changing E00 to 1400, you made the BASIC program o...
