Never played it myself back in those days but if you have it available on disk then please contribute it to the STH as I personally would love to take a look (still love all those old text adventures)...

It'd also be a great shame to lose even one piece of the old commercial software so do your bit to help preserve our digital heritage

Hi melchett,

I will upload it as soon as I have a 5.25" and 3.5" floppy drives connected to my Master Compact. I have modified the direction keys to the four cursor keys in Pirate.

Original Pirate playing keys iirc,

f0 - sail north
f1 - sail west
f2 - sail south
f3 - sail east
f4 - yes
f5 - no

My preferred Pirate playing keys,

Cursor up - sail north
Cursor left - sail west
Cursor down - sail south
Cursor right - sail east
f0 - yes
f1 - no

Also included on the disk is a scanned picture of a ship used as the title picture. I scanned the picture with a handscanner which I bought for my BBC B+.

Will have a look through my BBC software and see what other goodies I can find.
Hi BBC'ers,

Does anyone remember Pirate? It was a Mode 7 text/graphics adventure game in two parts. I have made a disk version from the cassette. If anyone would like me to upload it to STH, I willl. I have never completed it yet!!!
