I have just joined having recently having taken the plunge and bought a dead Acorn Atom on eBay to replace the one I sold 35 years ago.
Luckily all I needed to do to get it running was to sort out a 5v PSU and figure out which of the 24 x 2114 memory chips was u/s (the answer was 3 of them!) I now have a fully functioning Atom :D

My next step is hopefully to get hold of an AtoMMC to save and load programs but as a new member I'm unable to pm SirMorris ... could somebody do the honours please??

Any help gratefully received!

And you should be able to PM now :) - welcome to the board! Have a look at Prime's RAM/ROM board too. Getting yourself up to 32k will allow you to run pretty much everything on the Atom archive image :)

Thanks guys,

I am now in contact with sirmorris via email so hopefully should be able to get hold of an AtoMMC board soon!
Will look into Prime's RAM/ROM board as well as I currently only have 10k loaded :D

Cheers, Dave.

Hi all,

Similar to the last post, I've just got my hands on a lovely (completely in-expanded) Atom - and it survived the trip to Melbourne! A very much respected addition to my collection.
I've got a MMC solution for my BBC Model B, would love have the equivalent for the Atom ....
