First time I played this, aside from briefly trying it out, while going through game disks to see what was on them etc. (long ago, ca. 1995). Scored 57k or so, then a game where I was going perfectly and at 29k all riders gone but 1 bird kept bouncing between the 2 top platforms and so the level could not end! Pterodactyl or whatever appeared, I let it kill me, no change, bird still going left-right-left etc. Not sure I will play this again, doesn't grip me and this bug was f-ing annoying.

Yes, I've had that bug too - it also happened with a really good game going. This game didn't grab me at first but I found the more I played it, the better my skills got and I started to enjoy it, partly because it doesn't last very long, even when you keep moving up in levels.

It's not one I would normally play as a 'favourite' for me but in the challenge, it's fine and I'm even enjoying it.

I just got that bug. First time. Annoying!

I'm a long way off my best this week.

It's not a game that rewards caution. Or recklessness. There's a fine line.

I've come close to my best about 3 times but just can't get over the hump. I feel if I do, we'll actually be competing but......

Yes, caution and recklessness..... this game has balance. You have to get skilled or you get killed.

I can see how you can add an attachment but you have to click on it to download and view it.
How do you actually display a high score image in a message as many do in this thread ?

I did something similar with 4 lives, that almost never happens to me any more yet I'm not really making any progress.

Final High Score Tables updated for this round......

This was a pretty decent Joust game where very high scores were hard to achieve. Today,
Barbarossa69 - came in first with a very decent score. Thanks for playing this one, despite it's annoying 'forever flying bird' fault it was a great win.......congrats to you Barbarossa...... =D> =D> =D>

So folks, the next up is White Light by Sarah Walker and John Blythe.

I ended up winning Season 8 so that's my choice for the Championship Round. I really hope you have fun with it.... it's a game I really like as it's so professionally done and just plays really well. You won't find bugs in this one as they've done a bang up job over the past 7 or so years to iron it out. It has also been properly Alpha and Beta tested by some on this group so you know it's going to be great.... it IS great!!!.

Anyway, enjoy and I've already put up a score to give you a modestly middling target to shoot for and surpass.

Also, I will start a thread for submissions for Season 9. At this time, if you have ideas for format changes, please let me know. The rules aren't going to change unless there is a great concensus that they should but perhaps people might see a better way to run the competition.

For my part, I quite like it how it is but am certainly willing to be flexible should reasonable changes be suggested, and that will always be the case.

If I hear nothing then I'll just keep on keeping on as they say.

I suppose I must take the obligatory pat on the back so congrats go out to KarateEd (that's me) who is the overall champion of season eight.

What this means is that I get to pick any game I wish for the Champion's High Score Challenge. I've chosen White Light and it's already up and ready to go so have at it.

Thank you all for playing this season and I hope you had as much fun playing as I did. It's fairly rare that I get to win a complete season as I know there are many very good players out there, most better than me but being retired has it's advantages and so...... I win!!!! (this time).
