Oh boy, another twitchy game that I am rubbish at :?

Anyone else notice that the up key only works once? I'm running on BeebEm with apostrophe (maps as Shitft in game) mapped as up, might try a different key config and also try on B-em to see if it's any different.

Edit: It was the key mapping causing an issue, changing to K and M for up and down works better... didn't help my score much though

An old favourite, good choice :D I was doing OK until the level with the aliens, lost all my lives on the same level. Best so far: 175,625.

Still a long way to go reach the scores from the last time this game was in the high score challenge...

A quick couple of goes tonight resulted in:

I've definitely got a better score in me and I'm sure I'll beat my score from last time round.

A great game, loved this the last time it came up.

Rather too easy in beginner mode, though (we played arcade mode last time) - the sheer number of extra lives you get makes it pretty marathonable.

Took me four goes to get back into the swing of it, this game certainly took a while:

Ye gods. How do you manage to score so highly on this?

I find the keys a tad unresponsive and the glass collection detection a little variable. Beautiful game to look at, though, and the animation makes me smile throughout.

Here's my paltry progress so far - still a career-best on this game for me, but still a long way off the pace. Game version played was the original BBC Micro tape version on a real Beeb as depicted. Please note that the tape is for sale.

Come join me at the bottom of the score tables. I need the company, it gets lonely down here. :( :-({|=

The others getting high scores - well, Ed gets his pets to play, and the rest are super-human. :?: Either that, or I'm just utterly hopeless? #-o :-k

Yup  - could have easily clocked it, but deliberately I started to play sloppily at the end 'cos I'd had enough. It was 2AM and I needed to get some sleep.

Also, I wanted to see a big score on the high score table. And perhaps feel a bit like the boy at the end of "The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner" :)

Question for Jools, are you playing on a real micro or inside beebem?

Just wondering if anyone knows if the sometimes laggy key response is better on a real box :-k Sometimes I'll tap the space say four times quickly and I might only get 2-3 drinks served, makes it hard to calibrate for missed drinks as i'm not sure how many have actually come out :?

If you guys are getting top scores while dealing with the laggy key response, my hats off to you all =D>

I find games generally easier to play on a real Beeb, because it is more responsive than the emulators. But, with Tapper you have to hold the pour key down for a short while before releasing it, so there's a certain rhythm to it. If you press the key too quickly it won't send a drink.
