Does anyone have this educational game that I played at school?

For some reason it is haunting me...

Aaargh! I just looked the game up, having never heard of it before, and it seems to be another Magic Telephone or Adventure Island -- an educational game which made an impact on people who played it at school but which seems to have disappeared in the years since. What is it with schools and teachers junking iconic Beeb eduware?!

(Of course, Magic Telephone was eventually found and archived, but only by chance, really. And as for Adventure Island, the original developers are insisting on enforcing their copyright and are preventing it and all their Beeb games from being shared, even though most of them are no longer available for purchase in any form, and despite the fact that said developers seem to have retained zero copies of their own back-catalogue, which is why it was only thanks to the preservation efforts of an individual forum member that the Mary Rose Museum's call for a copy of the old Beeb game about the sunken ship was actually answered.)

Just for interest's sake, it's mentioned on page 155 of AcornUser 058.

And here's a special feature on the game from a later issue (February 1988) of Acorn User, with screenshots, by Chris Drage:

Looks good. Shame it's MIA. :(

Details of the game, for the record:

    Wagons West
    Tressel Publications
    Lower Ground Floor
    70 Guard Parade
    Brighton BN2 2BA
    £29.75 on 5.25-inch disc or £31.95 on 3.5-inch
