Kong from Beebugsoft

Postby Michael Brown » Mon Jan 08, 2018 5:04 pm

Hi All,
Does anyone have a copy of a game called Kong by Beebugsoft?
A picture of the highscore for this game is featured in the September 1984 issue of Acorn User.

regards,
Mick.

PS In the same mag is a advert for Og the Caveman for the BBC B by Simonsoft. Anyone got that too?

No, see p. 5. However it's not a game, clearly it is a screen created with the 'telextext pack', the text of that is right beside the picture.

Hmmm... I have just seen the advert Wouter. I see what you mean.
It is interesting that they also show "Honest Joe" which *is* a real game... :-k

hmm, I don't know that game, but, is that screen in the advert part of the game? If not then it's just a coincidence of names. If it is it could still be used as an example of having been made with the teletext pack. In any event, I would not use that ad as any evidence of the existence of a game 'kong'...

Yes it is a true representation of the "Honest Joe" game: http://bbcmicro.co.uk/game.php?id=1124
I have recently done a complete trawl of all the Beebug magazines and I found no evidence of any game called Kong.
However, as I mentioned in this other thread: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=14184&p=188218&hilit=Beebug+supplement#p188218
A lot of software was advertised in the Beebug supplements, so I wouldn't say it is impossible!
