Help Needed-Personal Quiz Package/Colisoft WAV>UEF

Postby Arcadian » Fri Apr 18, 2014 11:28 pm

Can anyone convert this WAV recording of "Personal Quiz Package" by Colisoft, to a UEF (and also SSD) file?

does not sound very healthy, maybe a 'bad/cheap' alba blank tape :?
all I got so far is :

will try other tricks when my faithful desktop WinXP PC is next on......

had another go, thought I had it.
took left channel, made a UEF, and then a right.
this gave a mixture of all blocks to make it load, but block 1A is dead :(
main PQ.png
1A missing....

the main file PQ is locked.

So if you have a side B to the tape :?: , I could get it to work if block 19 to 1B can be .WAVd

got the first file 'PQUIZ' off onto .ssd 8)

..... goes to sit in the sun :D

That's looking better, Colin!

But unfortunately the tape snapped when attempting to read the second side - and ended up everywhere! (It was in very ropey condition, as you can hear from the recording!).

I've sellotaped the tape together again and wound it all back in (the 'break' was right near the beginning, so hopefully the program data is still in tact) but I'm not putting it back in the plusdeck unit again.

What I'll do is create some backups onto new D90s using the Sony Duplicators, then create some WAVs from those. Unfortunately due to my upcoming schedule it's not likely I'll get this done for a few weeks ...

a few 3.3yrs later  , did you find the same PQ file on sideB? blocks 19 to 1B only needed!

found the failing .WAV (sideA) when looking for something else, as you do, & wondered if it worked......
