Forum rules
You're welcome to trade Acorn-related stuff with other forum members here - the rule of thumb to follow when trading, is that items or services offered should be of interest to our Acorn community. Do NOT use multiple accounts - please trade with your regular (and only) forum account. If you're giving items away, please make it clear if you would be unhappy with the recipient selling on some or all of the items. Similarly, please ensure that the giver is comfortable with you re-selling items you have accepted as a gift. We cannot be held responsible for what happens in these trading forums or for deals done via PM. This must be done at your own risk. If you aren't comfortable with this - make the trade via an alternative site which can apply safeguards of their own. Be sensible - if someone approaches you to trade via PM who is not posting in the public forums, this may be a sign that they are not entirely what they seem. Please report it to the moderators if you receive an unsolicited message from anyone suspicious, so that it can be investigated and hopefully stop anyone being taken advantage of. BBC Micro games/software/books/ephemera for sale (plus a few free to a good home things)

Postby Jeremy Grayson » Wed Jun 07, 2017 10:52 pm

Hello all,

With a house move looming large inside the next three months and a wedding to follow right after that, I suspect it's going to be a little while again before the opportunity arises to attend another ABug event, and with that to offer up any of my surplus stock for sale there. That's a pity, as I had a splendid time at the Bolton event.

On account of life getting a bit in the way as described, and because presumably not all active forumites are necessarily ABuggers as well anyway, please find below a current list of games, software, inlays, books, ephemera, accessories, etc. (some of it ex-schools, some not) that I'd be happy to offer at the given prices to forumites (or free if indicated as free to a good home) on a first come, first serve basis.

Please note that ALL games and software have been successfully playtested at some point this year.

Purchase requests can be sent to me via the Private Messages facility, and I shall address them in the strict order in which I receive them. Sold items will be marked up as such in the list below as time goes by.

PayPal payment is preferred, but other payment means will be gladly considered if required. Multiple purchases will be packaged together to save on p&p costs as far as is practicable, and any and all inadvertent overcharging of p&P by me (i.e. if it turns out the package does fit through the postmaster's size-measuring slot!) will be refunded.

I'll be sending stuff out Royal Mail 2nd class unless requested to do otherwise. As a UK seller that'll probably typically mean increments of £2.90, but I am happy to sell to anywhere in the world as required.

Hope this is all okay, and that everything outlined above meets with the moderators' approval vis-a-vis sales etiquette. Do please drop me a line if there are any queries.

Thanks in advance, and happy browsing,

Jeremy

Agreed. But if you're worried about Fleet St Phantom, don't be -- that was me!

BUMPED, as I've now added some books to the list which I'm sure I remembered still having, and indeed I still do. Hopefully not for long, mind. :-)

Hello all,

Here is a quick note to apologise for a bit of tardiness in terms of getting stuff to people before now. The house move mentioned in the OP accelerated to a degree we hadn't anticipated one little bit and necessarily prevented any parcelling up and posting of stuff until Wednesday evening.

No matter. Apart from one p&p request to France to see to tonight I think I've answered everything that was in my PM box now (do please drop me a line if you think different), and all bar three packages have been posted. Thanks for your forbearance.

Hi! I just signed up because I'm trying to get a copy of a game you're selling here as a gift for someone: Play it again Sam 10. I tried to send you a message but it might be disabled as I just signed up, could you shoot me a message first?

If I can get a copy, next step is to try and get a working Micro for them, as they always talk about it with nostalgia and longing (lol). Since the one game is so cheap, and I don't want to ask what other games they can remember as it'd spoil the surprise (all I could remember was Qwak), I'd also appreciate any recommendations you have and I can buy a little selection.

Thanks!

@Heydave88 - As a newbie, you can receive PMs but cannot reply to, or send any PMs.

Interact some more by posting, or contact an administrator and ask. Also pop over here and have a read.

Games that I've played and enjoyed from the list above:

  • Acid Drops (Firebird) … £1.25
  • Chuckie Egg (Pick ‘n’ Choose) … £1.75
  • Estra (Firebird) … £1.25
  • Fab Four (ASL) (Omega Orb, Psycastria 2, Sphere of Destiny 2, Thunderstruck 2; cassette rather yellowed) … £1.50 - not sure I've played all of these but for £1.50 how could you refuse!
  • Mr Ee! (Micropower) (small bit of writing on inner inlay) … £1.00

£8.75 well spent!

Re: BBC Micro games/software/books/ephemera for sale (plus a few free to a good home things)

Hello Heydave,

Thanks for your interest in my sales stuff, and apologies for the delay in responding before now - mad busy at present for all of the reasons mentioned in the original post :-)

I'd basically what Sydney and 1024MAK said about PMs; ideally you'd need to be able to exchange PMs with me, solely as things like my email address to send your PayPal payment to and your postal address to send the games don't really want viewing in public.

I'm certainly happy to place a reserve on anything you're after for a few days until you've got PMs enabled, if that would help? Do please let me know.

The copy of Play It Again, Sam 10 I'm selling is tape only without the original inlay, but if that's no problem for you I'd be delighted to offer you that for sale. I'm as certain as I can be that it still plays 100% fine, as the version of Zalaga on there was one of the ones I used when that game came up in the High Scores Challenge on this forum a few weeks ago :-)

Cheers,

Jeremy

Just whilst I'm here, by the way - thanks to everyone who's let me know so far that their swag has arrived safely, and that Obsessive Compulsive Postage and Packers (tm) has done his job as well as usual :-)

The parcels to France and the Netherlands were sent off at the start of the week and I think that brings me up to date with everything for the time being, other than the Power in Your Hands audio cassette which I've not been able to retrieve from storage (idiot here packed it away with all his music!) and for which I've thus refunded the buyer with my apologies.

Heydave88 wrote:If I can get a copy, next step is to try and get a working Micro for them, as they always talk about it with nostalgia and longing (lol). Since the one game is so cheap, and I don't want to ask what other games they can remember as it'd spoil the surprise (all I could remember was Qwak), I'd also appreciate any recommendations you have and I can buy a little selection.

Payment received with thanks, Dave! Order on its way...
