Now I finally have a Plus1 to plug it into, I'm really hoping some more of these boards resurface from storage :D :D

Are any of these boards left by any chance? I never had a disk drive on my electron back in the day and would truly love one of these.

I don't have any left I'm afraid :(

I think Phill (Prime) scanned a bare Peg PCB and produced schematics etc. but I don't believe he had any more made. As far as I'm aware, unless anyone else is planning a new batch, you're out of luck.

Just out of interest, has someone traced out the schematic yet? I feel one done on veroboard would have a certain "bodgity" goodness to it...

A schematic would be useful . . . I'll be able to check-out the differences between the Peg and AP3/4. Could be useful improvements to be added during the pending relaunch. Or, if someone has an idea for and additional functionality or just general improvements . . . I'm all ears :D

Yep ages ago :

http://www.stardot.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3787&p=32400&hilit=pegasus+schematic#p32400

The Zip file on that page contains the PDF schematic and the Eagle Schematic / board file, note I have not built the board but if anyone does and finds errors, please feed them back....

Cheers.

Hello hello,

I am correct in thinking that an unpopulated board plugged into a cartridge slot will do absolutely nothing and the machine will still boot, right? :-k

I realise there are none left, but I am interested in getting one for my Elk (which also needs a +1 interface in case anyone has a spare!).

Please let me know when / if there are any more to be made. I have a dual floppy drive using Shugart interfaced floppies - I assume this would just plug in?

It would, yes. It's identical to the connector on a BBC/Master.

I've got 2 x AP3/4s being put up here for sale within a few days . . . If you can hang-on?

Right. There's another version of this PCB - some who've obtained one recently may have it. You can easily identify it by the mysterious extra hole (via to nowhere) I've circled in green in the first picture... There are a couple of other differences too, but that's the most obvious.

There's a problem with the traces on the board (Pin 4 of the LS10 should be linked to A12, it's not, it's actually linked to something else that I can't be mithered to look up). The fix is pretty straightforward. Cut the track I've circled in red (component side):

Then on the solder side use some hookup wire to connect pin 4 of the LS10 to the via I've circled in red:

Job done, working peg. Hooray :) - (Richard T will be pleased, it's his board!).

The perils of old mystery stock, but I like a puzzle that has a happy solution...

Wow, well spotted - in that case, there must be THREE versions of the board(!) because I have a few PCBs for another variant, which doesn't feature the 'PEGASUS disk system' wording!

Daniel, excellent stuff my friend....

Would anyone one be kind enough to shed some light on the value of the SIL resistor package used on the joystick interface please...

Thx

Thanks Daniel..

I presumed they are just pullups so anything around 4k7 should be ok esp if it works with 1k....

Cheers chap.

I'm missing out. Is there a Pegasus 400 PCB available I might acquire?
