It would be great if someone could add a high score table to Mr.Ee! - we always wanted one when I used to play it with my brothers many years ago. It's the only thing missing from the game.

Thanks.
Do you remember Swarm and Frenzy?
They were good games as well.

It's the only thing missing from the game. Memory constraints are the problem, Mr. Ee! runs in MODE2, so no memory above &3000 is available. It uses &400 to &700 and &900 to &3000 for code. &800 is used for envelope storage / sound workspace. The high score table from Killer Gorilla (i chose it because it's the same author - Adrian Stephens) takes around &250 bytes. Even using some non code space in MREE around &3F10, it just doesn't seem possible

I'm ashamed to say I've never played Mr. Ee! before now despite hearing nothing but good things about it over the years. I've just had a quick blast now and can see it's far less annoying than Adrian's other classic Killer Gorilla which was completely marred for me by the pixel-perfect lift jumping required from on level 3. I used to be amazed at the difference betweek Killer Gorilla and Chuckie Egg, in this regard. Anyway, I've just had a bash at Mr. Ee! now and got a beginner's score of 23200 on scene 5. I'm not sure why you particularly want a high score table, though - the score and scene remain on-screen until you press a key, so there's no problem making a note of your score. Unless you've got your beeb setup as an arcade machine for passers-by (cool!) ... Sam.

Possibly the most awkward key set ever?

Possibly the most awkward key set ever? Not so much if you put your fingers on the W, A and D as you would with a WASD configuration in a FPS, then use your thumb for space. Still, I don't know how intuitive it'd feel.

I guess that key setup would be okay for a left-hander; I'm right-handed and I would be comfortable playing with the mirror image J, I, L, space. But I really don't like using my left hand for all four directions.
As for "most awkward key set ever", my vote still goes to any with reverse-handed controls (e.g. Q, A for up and down, <, > for left and right). Do. Not. Want.
